As a soldier might be missing in action, so I often am "lost in thought." WB employees freeze when walking by my cube. For many I may be the first last and only person they have ever seen thinking. It scares them deeply. Eyes unfocused, sometimes lips moving. Who is this man? Little do they know. I am thinking about them. I am doing their voices. And if I laugh abruptly and the eyes flash, they might well be afeared. A lifetime of thinking makes for a dangerous colleague. No wonder the rule is, "Stay busy at all times." Authentic happiness. Little do they know what that might be. Yet, that is my secret role. Why else thrash these corporate-humans to tears of joy? (He laughs rocking alone in his cubicle, as his colleagues stop and stare.) "O excuse me, I was just thinking of a Simpsons episode." And once again the Happy Tutor is accepted back into Corporate America, the mystery of his laughter explained. Everything is OK.
